Tune In Now and till 6 PM: Music as Protest and Sweet Treat on Sonic Watermelons, February 14, 2011

MAJOR funding cuts are being proposed for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). To put it into context, your favorite hip hop or reggae documentary, the after school music or art teacher who listened and taught you something, the first public forum you attended because it was about music and culture – these things are all funded by NEA and NEH money.
I dedicate today’s edition of Sonic Watermelons to all of the digital and street soldiers who are spreading the word about this lunacy.
