Widely regarded for her championing of local artistry and women in music, Venus Sings (a.k.a. DJ Reza Wreckage) of the female poetry and artists collective Isis Storm and local radio station, WRIU 90.3 FM, is the hostess as well as one of three headlining acts of the evening.
Michelle Cruz, another member of Isis Storm, will also be performing. Cruz is currently recording her first full-length album, but the songwriter/guitarist/vocalist is well known locally and regionally for her eclectic fusion of soul, folk, and jazz melodies and for singles including “Not Saying Never” and “Deixa A Cappella.”
Saxophonist Mike Rollins will round out the list of headlining artists by providing his trademark style of jazz instrumentation and melody-making. Rollins is leader of Mike Rollins & Co., an ensemble regularly being sought out by bars and jazz lovers across the city.
